Looking for community during the changing season of life? Feeling like you need some clarity while you're busy taking care of everyone else and your body is going through its own changes? Ready to grow in ways that go beyond just the physical?
South River Yoga is so much more than just movement…we're here to share ancient yoga wisdom, create genuine connections, and give you real tools to help you not just survive but actually thrive through all of life's transitions.
What you need to know if you’re new to South River Yoga!
-
Our address is 4405 Meramec Bottom Road,Suite A. Specifically…we’re just west of 55 off Meramec Bottom Road in the same plaza as Bounce U and Jazzerice. We’re in the back right building and our doors on on the side between 2 flower pots and white benches. We share a space with the Center of Sound!

Yourself and a positive attitude are the most important things. If you have your own yoga mat and yoga props (blocks, strap, blanket, and bolster for some classes), bring those too. If you don’t have any of those, you can borrow from us until you want to invest in your own. We prefer cork blocks, so if you have foam, compare them to cork and see what you like best!
You may also want to bring water and a sweat towel for the FLOW classes. -
We don’t care! Whatever makes you feel comfortable and you can move around in. We don’t wear shoes in the yoga studio, so you can wear any shoes and you’ll take them off when you enter.
-
We prefer that you not bring phones into the yoga room. We have cubbies in the lobby where you can leave your phones and personal items if you don’t want to leave them in your car. We will lock the door during class if there will be no one attending the lobby.
Also leave behind judgement of yourself and others, comparison, loud voices, and the worries from outside the studio!
-
It depends on what you’re looking for! If you’re brand new to yoga and you’re looking for a more “movement” based class, we suggest starting with a FOUNDATIONAL CLASS: “Beginner’s Yoga” or “Yoga Basics” class.
If you want to focus on stress relief and calming of the mind, we suggest one of our RESTORE classes.
See all our CLASS DESCRIPTIONS HERE! Each description will note if yoga experience is needed or not.
-
YES!! Education and experience are very important to us at South River Yoga. In order to have a regular class on our schedule, we require all of our teachers to have completed their 500 Hour Yoga Teaching Training. Plus, most of our teachers have training above and beyond that in various specialties or other healing modalities. Meet our Teaching Training Team here!
We do allow graduates of our 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training program to substitute classes so that they can start to get more teaching experience!
-
Of course! Being flexible is not a prerequisite to doing yoga. In fact, if you’re not flexible, you SHOULD be doing yoga. Yoga can increase your flexibility and provide better mobility as we age.
-
We know that things happen. But because our classes are so popular and we limit our class sizes to give you the best experience possible, we ask that you give us at least 3 hours' notice before class starts to let us know that you can’t make it. We charge a 120 late fee for no-shows!
But, we get it, you’re new here… So, we don’t charge this fee during our New Student Intro Offer so that you can get to know the studio and how everything works! -
Yes! We have a large bathroom that has plenty of room to change before or after class.
-
Nope! We keep our studio at a comfortable room temperature. The only heat you'll feel is from the warm community energy and maybe a little natural warmth from moving your body. No artificially heated rooms here - just the perfect temperature to focus on your practice without melting!
