Jeannie Snook
RYT500
I grew up in Nebraska and moved with my husband, as a newlywed, to New Hampshire during a period of adventure and exploration in our life. My husband decided to pursue his dream of becoming a pilot and joined the military, where he served as a Chief Warrant Officer in Army Aviation for 20 years. This decision involved living in several states, some more than once, a few deployments, and raising our daughter. My work history included time as a cosmetologist, a legal secretary, and a certified medical transcriptionist. Along the way I have taught other forms of group fitness, including aerobics, kickboxing and strength training.
My yoga journey began many years ago as a complement and alternative to other fitness routines. In 2016 I began to come to the mat on a more regular basis, finally beginning to appreciate the benefits of stress reduction, community building, and self-acceptance that had always been missing in other fitness practices. In 2018 I enrolled in Yoga Teacher Training at Life Moves Yoga in Killeen, Texas sensing a shift in my life and craving a deeper understanding of this ancient way of living life more fully. Upon earning my RYT-200 I taught many styles of yoga classes at Life Moves Yoga and worked with clients, neighbors and friends one on one. I completed the Level 1 and 2 Warriors At Ease teacher trainings in Texas in order to bring the benefits of yoga and mindfulness to active-duty members of the armed services, veterans and their family members. I am a level 1 iRest Yoga Nidra teacher and recently completed my RYT-300 training as well. I
have lived in St. Louis for just under a year, having relocated to be close to our grown daughter, her husband and their 1-year-old son. Some of my favorite activities off the mat include being outdoors, walking, reading, spending time with family and friends as well as traveling to new vacation destinations. I am committed to being a lifelong learner, and know that I learn something each and every time I come to the mat, whether as a student or teacher. I believe that yoga is truly for everybody and I work hard to offer classes which allow students a sacred space to thoughtfully consider their intention, move appropriately and BE exactly who they already are. I am excited to continue learning and growing together with this vibrant community of yogis, moving mindfully, breathing deeply, so that we will live fully, both on and off our mats.
