Like many of the women who walk through our doors, my yoga journey didn't start on a mountaintop—it started in the trenches of real life.
I was a mother of two young children, battling a debilitating illness, climbing the corporate ladder while my body and spirit were crying out for something different. Sound familiar? In my thirties, drowning in the impossible juggling act so many women know by heart, yoga found me. Not as a fitness routine, but as a lifeline.
I wasn't looking for enlightenment, I was looking for relief. What I discovered was far more powerful: yoga didn't just heal my body; it gave me the mental clarity to navigate the chaos and the emotional tools to find peace in the storm.
As I dove deeper into the practice, I realized yoga wasn't something I did for an hour a day—it was a way of living that transformed everything: how I parented, how I worked, how I showed up for myself and others.
In 2018, I enrolled in the 200-hour Teacher Training at South River Yoga, originally just to deepen my own practice. But something magical happened: I discovered that sharing this ancient wisdom with other women wasn't just my passion, it was my calling.
By 2020, I had completed my 300-hour training, and there was no looking back. After 25+ years in the corporate world, I had found my true work.
Here's what I bring to every class, every workshop, every conversation:
Real-world experience navigating the challenges you're facing
Deep training in yoga philosophy that makes ancient wisdom accessible for modern life
Business acumen from decades in corporate leadership (because running a studio and your life requires practical skills too!)
Brené Brown "Dare to Lead" certification because vulnerability and courage go hand in hand
A commitment to "Clear is Kind"—my guiding mantra for all relationships
When I took over full ownership of South River Yoga in January 2023, I knew I wanted to create something special: a space where women could find not just physical healing, but the community and clarity needed to thrive in midlife and beyond.
Beyond the Mat
I'm a mom to two incredible young men who continue to teach me about growth, letting go, and the beautiful mess of unconditional love. Watching them become who they're meant to be reminds me daily that we're all works in progress, and that's exactly as it should be.
I also pour my heart into coaching yoga teachers, helping them bridge the gap between their passion for yoga and the practical skills needed to build sustainable careers. Because when our teachers thrive, our entire community grows stronger.
My Promise to You
Whether you're brand new to yoga or have been practicing for years, my commitment is the same: to hold space for exactly where you are right now. To help you discover the profound connection between breath, body, and spirit. And to guide you in applying yoga's timeless wisdom to the beautiful complexity of your daily life.
Together, we'll explore how yoga can support you through:
The physical and emotional changes of life’s different phases
The stress of caring for multiple generations whether it’s young children, adult children, grandchildren, or your aging parents.
Major life transitions and career changes
The deep desire for authentic community and connection
The journey toward becoming your most authentic self
Your Practice, Your Pace, Your Journey
My teaching philosophy is simple: Every student deserves to feel seen, supported, and celebrated for showing up exactly as they are. Whether you're working through physical limitations, emotional challenges, or simply seeking a moment of peace in a chaotic world, there's a place for you here.
Because yoga isn't about perfecting poses—it's about practicing presence. And that, my friend, you're already perfect at.
