I started practicing yoga after hurting my shoulder doing weights at the gym and was hooked after the first class. I loved how practicing the asanas made me feel physically, but what really kept me coming back was the growing sense of calm and centering that I would feel after taking a class. The more yoga classes that I took, the more I wanted to share the mindfulness and calmness that I was feeling with my grandchildren and their friends. I became a Registered Yoga to Grow Teacher for children in the spring of 2017 after completing the required 95 hour training under Susan Mathis in Columbia, MO and and currently teach kids ages 2 1/2 through 11. In June of 2018 I completed my adult 200 hour training with Jen as the primary instructor. Having retired from a professional nursing career I expanded my teaching to include the opposite end of the age spectrum and found I also enjoy working with accessible yoga classes. My goal for 2019 is to strengthen my knowledge in this area and start a class for adults suffering with Alzheimers and other forms of dementia.
