Ayurveda is often referred to as the sister science to the healing practices of Yoga. Ayurveda translates to the science of living or knowledge of life, and the practices of Ayurveda are aimed at increasing one’s awareness of imbalances in their earliest stages. The primary focus of Ayurveda is diet, routine, yoga, meditation and herbal remedies. The focus for the discussion includes the importance of digestion as it relates to health, as well as disease. We will also discuss the importance of routine in regards to creating better balance in the body and the mind. The eight healing qualities of nature and the six stages of disease will be introduced.
